About De Ville

Omega De Ville - For those who want style and substance

The Omega De Ville is a line of watches first introduced in 1967 by the Swiss watchmaker Omega. The Omega De Ville was designed as an understated alternative to the heavier sports models from Omega like the watches found in the Seamaster and Speedmaster ranges. Watches in the Omega De Ville line are known for their simple yet elegant design and are an especially popular model with women. But do not be fooled by the De Ville line's modest designs as the watches in this collection boast the same technological sophistication as any regular Omega watch. For those who want style and substance in their timepiece, look no further than the Omega De Ville.

Before its official debut in 1967, Omega first used the "De Ville" name in 1960, where new models of the Seamaster line were presented with an inscription on the dial reading Seamaster De Ville. Since then the De Ville name has identified the simpler and more elegant models of watches by Omega in contrast to their sportier lines like the Seamaster and Speedmaster ranges. Omega's chronometer technology is also included as one of the main characteristics of the watches.

The Omega De Ville made watchmaking history in 1999, where it was the chosen model for the initial presentation of Omega's innovative co-axial escapement technology. Omega was so confident in this new technology that all De Ville watches fitted with the co-axial escapement feature was granted a warranty of three years.

The Omega De Ville is one of Omega's most popular lines, due to its timeless elegance paired with the technical prowess we have come to expect from Omega. The De Ville line is now a family of a large collection of watches, with several sub-brands under the De Ville name. The Omega De Ville family of watches is now composed of the Ladymatic, Tresor, Hour Vision, Prestige, Gents' collection, and the Tourbillon collection.
