Chairokoguma - Rilakkuma's wild companion

Chairokoguma is a fictional character produced by the Japanese company San-X and is the newest addition to Rilakkuma and friends. Chairokoguma is similar in appearance to Rilakkuma but with darker fur and often depicted as walking on all fours. Chairokoguma simply means "brown bear cub" in Japanese. He was named by Kiirotori. Rilakkuma and friends first met Chairokoguma while on vacation in the Honey Forest. Since his introduction in 2016, Chairokoguma has appeared alongside Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, and Kiirotori in official merchandise by San-X.

Chairokoguma is the newest animal introduced to San-X's Rilakkuma franchise, launched in 2016. Rilakkuma and his friends first meet Chairokoguma while they were vacationing in the Honey Forest. He loves to eat honey and often has the sticky substance on his back. His paws are the shape of a bear's head.

Chairokoguma resembles Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma, however he is darker in color and smaller in size. He has fangs and fluffy white fur on his chest, which suggests that he is not wearing a kigurumi (mascot costume) like Rilakkuma. Chairokoguma often walks on all fours and roars and acts more like a wild bear compared to Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma. His catchphrase is "gao", the Japanese onomatopoeic word for roaring.

Chairokoguma does not live in Kaoru's house with Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, and Kiirotori, residing in the Honey Forest. The four friends enjoy climbing trees together, playing tag, but sometimes fight over honey.
