Super Mini 4WD by Tamiya - Mini cars with jumbo wheels

The Super Mini 4WD series is a line of Mini 4WD cars released by Tamiya in June 1993. The term Mini 4WD (also known as Mini Yonku in Japan) is predominantly used to refer to 1/32 scale, AA battery-powered plastic model race cars that operate without a remote control. The "4WD" of Mini 4WD is in reference to the mini cars' four-wheel drive ability. Super Mini 4WD cars feature the open-wheel and a body design with less drag. They also feature low-profile tires and large wheels. This is also the first Mini 4WD series to feature both Super-1 Chassis, Super TZ Chassis and also Super-FM Chassis. Models from this line require an electric motor and two UM3 (AA) size batteries for operation, which are not included. Tamiya claims that their Mini 4WD racing expertise is fully packed into each Super Mini 4WD car.

Using household tools like pliers, a craft knife and a screwdriver, you can remodel and customize your Mini 4WD with upgraded parts for better performance.

The manga series "The Wind Racer! Otokogi" and "Dash Boy! Ten" feature care from the Super Mini 4WD line, since all Mini 4WD cars featured in this line-up were designed by the series' author, Zaurus Tokuda. The Super Mini 4WD series debuted with Liberty Emperor and the Super-1 chassis. It is the first series to exclusively use the standard large diameter wheels and tires. Cars in the Super Mini 4WD series include Liberty Emperor, Poseidon-X, Tom Ghody Special, Shao Bai Ron, Big Bang Ghost, Boomerang-10, Boomerang Gamma, Astro-Boomerang, Strato Vector, Black Stalker, Thunder Boomerang W10, Ray Hawk-Gamma, and Tiger Zap.
