Mini 4WD: REV Series - The Mini 4WD's most aerodynamic series

The Mini 4WD REV series is a Mini 4WD car line introduced in July 2012 by Tamiya. The series was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Tamiya Mini 4WD line of toy cars. Like the Aero Mini 4WD, the REV series line-up focuses heavily on aerodynamic designs. The first three cars in the Mini 4WD REV series that were released were based on cars from the Racing Mini 4WD and Mini 4WD PRO series. Popular kits from the Mini 4WD REV series include Shadow Shark (AR Chassis), Flame Astute (AR Chassis), Rowdy Bull (FM-A Chassis) and Copperfang (FM-A Chassis).

The term Mini 4WD (also known as Mini Yonku in Japan) is predominantly used to refer to 1/32 scale, AA battery-powered plastic model race cars that operate without a remote control. The "4WD" of Mini 4WD is in reference to the mini cars' four-wheel driveability.

In 2017, Tamiya produced the FM-A Chassis as a subseries to the REV series, with Rowdy Bull being the first in the lineup. It is the successor to the Super FM Chassis series, combining the aerodynamic design of the AR Chassis models with the motor of the FM and Super-FM Chassis being mounted at the front of the car.

There have been two starter packs in the Mini 4WD series, the Mini 4WD Starter Pack AR Speed Spec released in 2015 and the Mini 4WD Starter Pack FM-A Balanced Spec released in 2018.
