About Harry Potter

Lego Harry Potter - The Wizarding World reimagined in the amazing world of Lego!

Lego Harry Potter is a product line of Lego, based on the films of the Harry Potter series. Lego models of characters, vehicles and important scenes made for the first six films and all seven books were released. The first sets appeared in 2001 alongside the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States.) The Harry Potter sets were then released to coincide with the film's theatre releases until Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. In 2018, Lego announced that more sets based on the Harry Potter universe would be produced, including new sets based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The first release in the Lego Harry Potter series was the 14 sets made in conjunction with the film Harry Potty and the Philosopher's Stone, released between 2001 to 2002. As with other series such as Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars, two Lego Harry Potter games were produced. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 was released in June 2010 and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 was released in 2011. The two games were then bundled as "Lego Harry Potter Collection" and were released in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, and for the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018.

Lego (stylized as LEGO) is a line of plastic construction toys that are manufactured by The Lego Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company's flagship product, Lego, is a set of colourful interlocking bricks accompanied by an array of gears, figurines (called minifigures) and various other combinable parts. Lego building blocks have inspired a global subculture that has exploded since their debut in 1949. The brand has grown to include movies, games, competitions and multiple Legoland amusement parks. In 1998, the Lego franchise added Lego Mindstorms, which is a hybrid hardware-software platform produced for the development of programmable robots based on Lego building blocks. The Lego Mindstorms Robotics Invention System set is the best-selling Lego set ever, with over 1 million sales globally since its launch.

More than 300 different kinds of Lego Star Wars products are on sale now. The most popular is the Millennium Falcon, piloted by Lego Han Solo. Many versions have been released, and it continues to sell out each time. The Ultimate Collector's Series-edition Lego Millennium Falcon that was released in 2007 contains 5,195 pieces, which is the second-most to ever be included in a Lego kit. Once built, that Millennium Falcon measures in at a whopping 84-cm long, 56-cm wide, and 21-cm tall. Even the inside of the ship has been faithfully replicated to resemble the real thing. At the time of release, it sold for 50,000\ but is now considered a rare collectible and is sold at high prices by resellers on the internet.

In addition to the regular minifigure-scale sets, Lego has released several sets for the Ultimate Collector Series. These models are often considerably larger, more detailed, and meant more for display purposes than other sets. They often cost more than regular Lego sets as well. Many of them include an information plaque and often a display stand. The largest of these is 75192, the 2017 UCS version of the Millennium Falcon, complete with ten minifigures. At 7,541 pieces, it is the largest Star Wars Lego set ever released, as well as the largest set of any collection ever commercially released. The newest Ultimate Collector Series set is also the 75192 Millennium Falcon. In June 2015 an unopened box of the older 2007 Millennium Falcon Lego set was auctioned online for 5,000 euros ($5,556 USD at the time), making it the most expensive Lego set ever.
