Touken Ranbu・Figures・Kashu Kiyomitsu

Touken Ranbu (which translates to "wild dance of swords") is a free-to-play online collectible card video game released by DMM and Nitroplus in January 2015. In the game, players assume the role of a Saniwa sage who travels back in time to defeat evil forces that are trying to change the course of history. As a sage, you have the ability to animate famous historical swords, which are anthropomorphized as attractive young men. Your duty is to bring these blades to life, create an army and defeat the enemies! The video game has received two anime adaptations, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru by Doga Kobo in 2016 and Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu by Ufotable in 2017. Touken Ranbu Pocket, the smartphone app version of the game for Apple iOS and Android, became available in March 2016.

Kashuu Kiyomitsu is a sword focused on appearances. While some of his comrades emulate the style of their owners, Kashuu emphasizes his own style. As such, his hair is always neatly combed and his nails are always manicured. His short stature is heightened slightly by the use of high heels. Kashuu is the first sword given human form by the saniwa. This is a reference to the fact that in the Touken Ranbu game he is one of the default swords that can be chosen.

Kashuu Kiyomitsu was a sword forged in 1684, by a swordsmith that lived by the riverbed. He "lived" surrounded by outcasts and undesirables and had many masters. Perhaps because he was born in an impoverished environment, he believes that keeping himself pretty is the key to being loved by his owner. This is seemingly the polar opposite of Yamatonokami Yasusada, with whom he often quarrels. Kashuu and Yamatonokami are often collectively called Okitagumi (roughly translated to "Okita team or group") due to their primary connection as former swords of Shinsengumi's Okita Soji. They are the only two Touken Ranbu swords that are Okitagumi.
