About Mio Honda

THE iDOLM@STER Mio Honda - The Funny Freshman Idol

Mio Honda is a character from a Japanese arcade game by 765 Production called The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER and abbreviated as IMAS or IM@S). She is one of the characters available in The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls and The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage. Mio is a 15-year-old high school freshman and cheery, outgoing idol. She's comfortable around people and loves to socialize. She has no trouble breaking the ice and making new friends. She is very friendly and, like the Futami twins, has a habit of giving nicknames to the other idols. Mio is voiced by Sayuri Hara.

The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER, and abbreviated as IMAS or IM@S) debuted in arcades across Japan as a raising simulation and rhythm video game by Bandai Namco Entertainment in 2005. The original arcade version of Idolmaster primarily centers around the career of a producer who works with a group of prospective idols at the talent agency 756 Production (or 756 Pro). A recurring theme in the series emphasizes the struggles an idol must go through to achieve stardom. The franchise has since grown into numerous sequels and spin-offs across multiple game consoles, including three social network games. The series has also produced a variety of other media such as anime DVDs, soundtrack CDs, manga and other print media, audio dramas, radio shows and a Korean drama. This vast range of works has culminated into the multimedia development project known as Project iM@S, with official releases in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English.

Mio is one of the first cards of the game and is a member of the Passion category. She is the last of the three tutorial idols, after Rin Shibuya and Uzuki Shimamura, to get a CD debut. She took Uzuki's spot as the pitiable unpopular idol. Mio was then announced to be the third of the New Generation girls and got her long awaited CD debut. She is considered to be the comedic one in her trio and even makes a request to have a laugh track play in her Cinderella Master CD. As a joke, she tried to start the interview with an odd accent but was directed to stop by the staff. Mio is the middle child and has two brothers. She has mentioned that she spends time with her brothers by playing video games all night. In Dice DE Cinderella, Mio's outfit is that of the Performer job class from Bravely Default. Oddly, she wears the male version of the outfit also worn by Tiz and Ringabel. In Starlight Stage, her image stat specialty is Dance.
