About Minami Nitta

THE iDOLM@STER Minami Nitta - Papa's Perfect Princess

Minami Nitta is a character from a Japanese arcade game by 765 Production called The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER and abbreviated as IMAS or IM@S). She is one of the characters available in The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls and The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage. Minami is a 19-year-old college student that plays on her school's lacrosse team. Although she's smart and athletic, she discovered the world of idols during a time where she was feeling unsure of herself and was inspired to give it a try. Becoming an idol on a whim fits her personality because she loves to try out as many different things as possible and often succeeds at her endeavors. She is voiced by Aya Suzaki.

The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER, and abbreviated as IMAS or IM@S) debuted in arcades across Japan as a raising simulation and rhythm video game by Bandai Namco Entertainment in 2005. The original arcade version of Idolmaster primarily centers around the career of a producer who works with a group of prospective idols at the talent agency 756 Production (or 756 Pro). A recurring theme in the series emphasizes the struggles an idol must go through to achieve stardom. The franchise has since grown into numerous sequels and spin-offs across multiple game consoles, including three social network games. The series has also produced a variety of other media such as anime DVDs, soundtrack CDs, manga and other print media, audio dramas, radio shows and a Korean drama. This vast range of works has culminated into the multimedia development project known as Project iM@S, with official releases in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English.

Though she has an image that portrays her as being perfect, Minami tends to overwork herself to the point of collapse because she becomes very upset when she isn't able to live up to her own expectations. Family is very important to her and she likes to act as a big sister to the younger idols. She is familiar with this role, as she has a little brother. She also has a father whom she calls "Papa," who is rather protective of her. In the spoken track on her Cinderella Master CD, Nitta admits that she's never had a boyfriend and that she's a bit unsure about wearing skimpy outfits. The schedules in her agenda book are rumored to be noted down to the exact minute. In Starlight Stage, her image stat specialty is Vocal.
