About Haruka Amami

THE iDOLM@STER Haruka Amami - A girl who is as sweet as the cakes she bakes and songs she sings

Haruka Amami is a character from The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER and abbreviated as IMAS or IM@S), a Japanese arcade game series by Bandai Namco. At the age of 16, Haruka is a very cheerful and hard-working girl who loves to sing. Haruka is the all-around good girl and main heroine among the 10 girls from the original Idolmaster game. She's enjoyed singing and making sweets since she was a child, despite the fact that she seems to be quite inept as a cook in general. She's easily excited and a bit clumsy, admitting herself that she usually falls down somehow at least once a day. However, Haruka remains positive and keeps a strong resolve, always working the hardest to make the producer happy. Although her signature color is red, Haruka actually tends to be more partial to pink things.

Another character within the game, Junjiro Takagi, calls Haruka a "normal" girl in reference to her ability to get along with almost anyone. She is also very clumsy and tends to stumble quite a bit, but that doesn't stop her from participating in sports events and dancing. One of Haruka's main hobbies is making sweets, particularly cakes and cookies, and sharing them with her coworkers. On her days off, she likes to buy cakes from her local bakery and then try to replicate them herself. Haruka is the only child of her mother and father, and together they make a cheerful family who loves spending quality time together.

Along with baking, Haruka enjoys karaoke and long phone calls. She is a right-handed 17-year-old Aries with blood type O who lives in Kanagawa, Japan. Haruka has short, brown hair that reaches her neck and is always adorned by her trademark red ribbons, which are sometimes replaced with barrettes. Her eyes are a deep aqua. Her casual clothes are usually simple and cute. She doesn't have a special outfit she wears while training, but she's usually in a simple white shirt with red track pants. As a retreat into the nostalgia of a childhood memory, Haruka prefers to practice her singing in a park. A twisted fan-made alter-ego of Haruka was created based on a joke about her voice actress, Eriko Nakamura, called Dark Haruka. Another bizarre alter-ego named Home Haruka was born out of a controversial merchandise release by Sony for the PlayStation Home.
