Uzuki Shimamura is a character available in The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER and abbreviated as IMAS or IM@S) and its spinoff, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage. Cinderella Girls is a sub-series of the original iDOLM@STER arcade game produced by Bandai Namco. Uzuki is one of the first idols available in the game and is classified under the "cute" ranking. Uzuki is voiced by Ayaka Ohashi in all her appearances, including the anime adaptation of the game.

Uzuki Shimamura is 17 years old, born April 24, making her a Taurus. She is a social girl who loves taking long phone calls with her friends and cheering them up when their down. She is the archetypal girl next door - charmingly ordinary in every way. Her bright smile and cutesy personality are seen as her defining traits. Uzuki's ordinariness is reflected in more than just her looks- her grades, class ranking and even her finishing positions in her school sports day is always right in the middle. Despite feeling a little insecure about her perceived mediocrity, Uzuki always pushes forward with a smile on her face and is dedicated to being the best idol possible.
When Cinderella Girls' was first released, Uzuki was overlooked by fans but soon became popular due to her status as the underdog. Uzuki didn't receive any new cards for a long time after the game was first released and it became an in-joke among in the Cinderella Girls fan community. The meme relating to this phenomenon, ""Shimamura-san pity"was widely shared among Cinderella Girls fans and this eventually led to her character gaining popularity. Due to her prominent role in the anime adaptation, Uzuki was voted as the number one character in the 5th Cinderella Girls General Election, becoming the 5th idol to receive the coveted Cinderella Girl title.
