About Figures Karamatsu
Karamatsu Matsuno - The second of six identical idiots
Karamatsu Matsuno is a character from Osomatsu-san, a 2015 comedy anime television series by Pierrot, based on Fujio Akatsuka's 1962 manga series, Osomatsu-kun. Celebrating Akatsuka's 80th birthday, the series follows the sextuplet Matsuno brothers from the original series as adults and features more adult-oriented humor compared to the original. Though the brothers are visually identical, Karamatsu (the second-oldest of the six) is determined by Akatsuka to be the carefree, happy-go-lucky one in the group from the time they are children. As an adult, Karamatsu has grown to be full of energy and charisma, yet is often oblivious to what actually goes on around him. He tends to take everything presented to him very seriously and often speaks in a drawn-out, poetic fashion.

The original Osomatsu-kun series followed mischevious identical sextuplets Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu Matsuno. Mr. Osomatsu picks up where Osomatsu-kun left off, by depicting the siblings as being ten years older with the action taking place in a modern-day setting. All of the siblings have now grown up into lazy NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training), with each brother having developed their own distinct personality. The series follows the siblings in their everyday (and occasionally imaginary) lives.
Mr. Osomatsu was simulcast by Crunchyroll, making it the first piece of Osomatsu-kun media to receive an official English release. Both seasons of the show have been licensed in North, Central and South America by Viz Media. A manga adaptation by Masako Shitaro began serialization in Shueisha's You magazine from January 2016. The series' first episode, which featured multiple parodies, was removed from streaming sites in November 2015 and is replaced by an original video animation in its home video release. Additionally, the third episode, which features a crude parody of Anpanman, was edited for its Japan broadcast and is altered in its home video release. A special episode, produced in collaboration with the Japan Racing Association, aired on December 12, 2016.
In anticipation for the show's second series, Mr. Osomatsu collaborated with Animate Cafe in Japan from October to November of 2017 to offer a range of limited edition dishes themed after elements and characters from the show. The Ikebukuro Animate location offered a special Osomatsu-san Museum, which generated a line of about 2,000 excited fans waiting outside on the store's opening day. Another successful Mr. Osomatsu collaboration was with Ultraman in 2017. After the production of Mr. Osomatsu, sales of the original Osomatsu-kun manga series also saw a significant increase. Also, the special Mr. Osomatsu-edition Animage magazine flew off the shelves in February 2016. Mr. Osomatsu's CD, Blu-ray and DVD sales are also strong. In Australia and New Zealand, Madman Entertainment released the series on DVD in December 2016 and made the series available on AnimeLab. The production of an English dub was also announced. Bandai Namco also released a party game based on the series for the Nintendo 3DS in December 2016. A story-based video game developed by Idea Factory was then released for the PlayStation Vita in 2017.
