Hachune Miku - the mascot of the Vocaloid fandom!

Hatsune Miku, codenamed CV01, is the name of a Vocaloid voicebank's personification, a 16-year-old girl with long, turquoise twintails. Miku debuted in August 2007 for the Vocaloid 2 engine. Hachune Miku is possibly the most famous derivative of Hatsune Miku created by Otomania and Tamago. Hachune became famous singing her own version of the Loituma Girl meme and soon became of the most recognizable facets of the early Vocaloid fandom. Hachune Miku was appeared in late 2007, depicted spinning a spring onion while singing the Ievan Polkka by Loituma, a popular Finnish song. Hachune Miku appears as a chibi character, wearing a blank-eyed expression with her mouth agape. Her name "Hachune Miku" is a mispronunciation of Hatsune, showing the sillier and childish nature to this version of Miku.

Despite originally being a fan creation, there has been a huge amount of officially licensed Hachune Miku merchandise produced. Good Smile Company produced a limited edition Nendoroid of Hachune Miku for the Wonfest 2008 Summer Fair. Since her conception in 2007, Hachune Miku has appeared in a variety of publications including official Vocaloid manga works and fan-made doujinshi. The Hachune Miku character has also appeared as a cameo in the rhythm game, Hatsune Miku Project Diva.
