Nagisa Hazuki is a character from Free (stylized as Free!), a Japanese anime television series based on the light novel High☆Speed and produced by Kyoto Animation with Animation Do. The first series of the anime began airing in 2013, with the second season "Free! - Eternal Summer" and third season "Free! - Dive to the Future" being released in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Free has enjoyed huge success since its debut, spawning films, an internet radio show, and drama CDs. Nagisa is one of the main characters of the series whose specialty is breaststroke.

Nagisa Hazuki is a third-year student at Iwatobi High School who swims breaststroke on the Iwatobi High School swim team. He is a bright and cheerful member of the team but is never afraid to speak his mind. In fact, his straight-forward approach to life is what established the current Iwatobi High School swim team in the first place! Sometimes his pushiness can be seen as rude, but he is often the one to inspires his team members into action.
Nagisa has admired Haruka's swimming style since his middle school days and eventually enrolls at Iwatobi High School in order to be able to swim with him again. He is also very close with Rei Ryugazaki, calling him "Rei-chan" and always coming to his side when he needs help. At first, Rei found Nagisa to be somewhat annoying due to his attitude but is grateful to him as Nagisa was the member who invited him into Iwatobi High School's swim club in first place.
Nagisa was born on August 1st, making him a Leo. His motif animal is a penguin and he is often shown with the bird in official merchandise and promotional images. Nagisa is voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga in the anime, with Greg Ayres serving as his voice in the English dub of Free.
