Digimon Fusion - A fun story that gets back to Digimon Adventure roots

Digimon Fusion (known in Japan as Digimon Xros Wars, pronounced "Cross Wars"), is the sixth anime television series in the Digimon franchise by Akiyoshi Hongo. It is produced by Toei Animation and follows a child named Michael "Mikey" Kudo who utilizes the power of joining together creatures known as Digimon in order to save the Digital World from corrupted forces enslaving its inhabitants. The series premiered in the United States in September 2013, on Nickelodeon. The series was adapted into a manga series and was given multiple video games. Its use of thought-provoking themes and striking fight scenes have earned it an overall positive response. The show's third season was a nominee in the 2012 International Emmy Kids Awards for Best Animation.

Digimon Fusion's main characters are Mikey Kudo, Nene and Ewan Amano, Christopher Aonuma, and Tagiru Akashi. The plot of the show revolves around multiple armies who are fighting for dominance of the Digital World. Fusion Fighters, Blue Flare, Midnight, and the Bagra Army are each searching for the 108 Code Crowns that grant control of Zones, which are fractured pieces of the Digital World. Whoever gathers all of the Code Crowns will be able to combine them into their original, complete form and bend the entire Digital World to their will. The Bagra Army's goal is to transform the Digital World into a hellish realm of suffering, and the Fusion Fighters, led by Mikey Kudo, must stop them.

The series was broadcast on TV Asahi and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation between July 2010 and March 2012. It is divided into three arcs, with the last two given the subtitles of "The Evil Death Generals and the Seven Kingdoms" and "The Boy Hunters Who Leapt Through Time," respectively. The series was licensed outside of Asia by Saban Brands for an English dub produced by Studiopolis. The first arc was dubbed as the first season of Digimon Fusion. The second arc premiered in March 2015.

The premiere of Digimon Xros Wars in Japan coincided with the release of a broad range of merchandise, such as the Super Digica Taisen card game, the Digimon X Arena arcade game, the Digimon Xros Loader virtual pet, the Digimon Xros Figure Series toys, and a series of straps that were sold in capsule toy vending machines. Two arcade machines which use special cards have been released, called Digimon X Arena and Super Digicard Battle. A video game based on the series, Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars, was released in Red and Blue versions for the Nintendo DS in March 2011. Together, Super Xros Wars serves as the fourth game in the Digimon Story series.
