Sakura Kinomoto - the Cardcaptor of the Clow!
Sakura Kinomoto is the main character of the manga series Cardcaptor Sakura (often abbreviated as CCS and localized into English as "Cardcaptors"), a Japanese magical girl manga series illustrated and written by the manga group Clamp. The original manga series was serialized from May 1996 to June 2000 in the shojo manga magazine Nakayoshi. The series was incredibly popular, spawning a 70-episode TV anime adaptation, video games, art books, and picture books. A manga sequel to the series, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, began serializing in 2016. Sakura also appears in two of Clamp's later manga series, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHolic. In Cardcaptor Sakura, Sakura collects and retrieves the Clow Cards with her best friends Tomoyo Daidouji and Syaoran Li.

Sakura Kinomoto is first introduced in the series as an energetic and cheerful ten-year-old girl, who lives in Tomoeda, a fictional suburb of Tokyo. Sakura leads a normal life of an elementary school student until she one day accidentally releases the magical Clow Cards from a book she finds in the basement of her home. After the Clow Cards escape, their angel-winged lion guardian Cerberus appears and chooses Sakura as the Cardcaptor that must retrieve them. Soon Sakura starts her adventure to collect the missing Clow Cards alongside her best friends Tomoyo Daidouji and Syaoran Li.
Sakura is the daughter of Fujitaka Kinomoto and the younger sister to Touya Kinomoto. In the first half of the series, Sakura has a crush on Yukito Tsukishiro, the best friend of her brother Touya. Yukito is actually the human alter-ego of the Clow Card guardian, Yue. As the series progresses, Sakura realizes that she is in love with Syaoran. Sakura also becomes close friends with Eriol Hiragizawa, a transfer student from England who has the power to harness Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun. Sakura also has a rivalry with Meiling Li, the childhood friend of Syaoran.
Despite being inexperienced, Sakura possesses great magical ability. Sakura uses the Sealing wand to seal and summon Clow Cards at will. Towards the second half of the series, Sakura is able to transform the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards, breaking away from the presence of Clow Reed.
