About Phone Straps Tobio Kageyama

Haikyuu!! Tobio Kageyama - King of the Court

Tobio Kageyama is a character from Haikyuu (stylized as Haikyuu!!), a Japanese shonen manga series about male high school volleyball players. He is a first-year student at Karasuno High School as well as the regular setter for the Karasuno High Boys' Volleyball Club. He is the youngest player on the team and plays a critical role as the deuteragonist of the Haikyuu series. The derogatory nickname "King of the Court" was given to him by his former teammates at Kitagawa Daiichi Junior High School in reference to his no-nonsense personality. Tobio is seen as a child prodigy and even a genius by many of the prefecture's volleyball players and coaches. He is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa.

Haikyuu, written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, has expanded into a franchise that offers a variety of mixed media including anime, compilation films, video games and a radio drama. The name Haikyuu is derived from the pronunciation of the kanji for "volleyball," because the story chronicles the lives of junior high schoolers who passionately play the sport in hopes of becoming champions. Individual chapters of Haikyuu have been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since February 2012, with standalone volumes published by Shueisha. The series was initially published as a one-shot in Shueisha's seasonal Jump Next magazine prior to serialization.

Despite his natural inclination to isolate himself, Tobio sincerely wishes to do his best. His attitude changes to be more team-oriented after joining the Karasuno volleyball team. He has grown to be more respectful of his upperclassmen, specifically Koshi Sugawara and Asahi Azumane. He is also more accepting of people whose abilities and/or views differ from his own, such as Kei Tsukishima. He has come to understand the importance of teamwork and mutual trust in the sport that he loves so much. Additionally, this has also helped him regain his confidence as a setter. He has also realized that he isn't the boss and now gives up control to Shoyo Hinata and other spikers. Tobio has been chosen to train at the all-Japan youth training camp and many predict that he will eventually join Japan's national volleyball team.
